| Description: |
The City of Prince George (City) is seeking the services of a qualified engineering consultant firm with the appropriate team of specialists, and sub-consultants, who can demonstrate the experience required to provide professional engineering services to undertake an assessment of the eleven (11) railway grade crossings within the City, in relation to Transport Canada’s Grade Crossing Regulations and Grade Crossing Standards. Transport Canada introduced Grade Crossing Regulations to incorporate the Grade Crossing Standards and bring a consistent level of safety to each railway crossing in Canada. All existing grade crossings must comply with the new standards. The City, as the road authority, wishes to assess the eleven (11) grade crossings. The proponent will assist the City in identifying corrective measures in order to comply with the new standards set forth in the Grade Crossing Regulations (GCR) and Grade Crossing Standards (GCS). This project is expected to be awarded by Mid-March. The desired date for commencement of the project is no later than March 29, 2021. The project is to be completed and the final report submitted by July 30, 2021. Following the completion of the recommended improvements from the final report, the City may require re-assessment and certification of the grade crossings stating that they meet the requirements of the GCR and GCS; this work does not form part of the scope of work or the contract. An estimate for the re-assessments should be included in the proposal as a separate item. If the City wishes to perform the re-assessments, the proponent may be contacted to perform the work. If the proponent is interested, the proponent will enter into a Contract with the City. |
