City of Prince George (the “City”) invites bids from qualified contractors to remove the mould growth and re-stain the ceiling to facilitate the installation of a new dehumidifier directly after the remediation is completed. 

The Kin 1 arena is a primary facility for the City hosting many events and many various activities and sports all year round. The arena lacked dehumidification when constructed. In the winter months, the ice resurfacer uses hot water during the flooding process and this leads to moisture evaporating into the arena air. Secondly, winter months and spring have gradually become warmer, while ice is still in the arena for recreation which creates more humidity in the arena. As a result of these scenarios mould growth has occurred down the centre of the Kin 1 arena ceiling.
