Description: 

The City of Prince George (City) is seeking the services of a qualified engineering consulting firm with the appropriate team of specialists who can demonstrate the experience required to initially provide an innovative and cost effective predesign study directly related to a new water reservoir along Boundary Road. The new reservoir is required to improve fire flows to the industrial area south of the watermain high point along Boundary Road. The deliverables of the predesign study will be a preliminary design complete with class “C” cost estimates to inform the next stage, namely detailed design.  The City intends to expand the scope of work to the detailed design and further to construction services which includes contract administration and project closeout services, pending consultant performance and project approvals at each of the first two stages. This RFP is for the predesign stage at this time only Phase 1 only, with potential to move to Phases 2 and 3 the design and construction stages respectively, pending consultant performance, project pricing, and ultimately budget approval.

 

The services required for Phase 1 the predesign stage include but are not limited to:

 

  1. Review and Investigation of existing infrastructure and environment;
  2. Assess future fire flow requirements;
  3. Conduct an investigation to identify the most suitable site and area required to construct and access the proposed new reservoir complete with evaluation of site conditions and physical limitations;
  4. Develop a technical analysis of potential reservoir design options to review with the City project team;
  5. Determine land acquisition requirements;
  6. Work with the City project team to determine a preferred design option;
  7. Complete a preliminary design report based on the preferred design option;
  8. Complete preliminary design drawings;
  9. Complete land acquisition drawing;
  10. Complete Class C Capital Cost Estimate;
  11. Provide proposal and estimate for Phase 2 – Detailed Design.
