The City of Prince George invites bids from qualified and experience contractors in accordance with the terms and conditions outlined herein, for the supply of materials, labour, and equipment to construct remediations works for an eroded ravine of Varsity Creek for approximately 140 m downstream of Simon Fraser Avenue. The work includes the reconstruction of the channel base with step pools, boulder weirs, and embankment armoring. It also includes bioengineering slope stabilization of the channel slopes. The work includes approximately 2350 m² of clearing and stripping, and 1300 m³ of excavation. The work also includes the extension and support of two existing, small-diameter storm sewers discharging to Varsity Creek. Access to the site will be via temporary access road that must be constructed and restored once work is complete. The restoration works include live stacking, general planting, and the watering and maintenance of installed vegetation for a minimum of one year.
