Description: 

City of Prince George (the “City) is seeking proposals from qualified suppliers to provide food and beverage services for CN Centre, Kin Lounge and the Prince George Conference and Civic Centre (PGCCC). Prince George is located in the geographical centre of British Columbia; Prince George has a growing population of approximately 80,000 and serves a region of 300,000 residents.

The City is seeking an experienced supplier(s) with proven ability in the provision of food and beverage services, including full service catering, private suite catering, concession services, non-alcoholic beverage services and alcohol services.  We are looking for a supplier(s) who shows strength in community connections, service commitment, employee performance, business innovation, financial stability, team building, and industry leadership as well as market responsiveness. The supplier(s) will demonstrate their dedication to excellence and be able to respond to the challenges of a municipal organization committed to marketing a quality product and experience. 

The City is committed to excellence and will welcome anyone who can fulfill the requirements, with menu offerings which are affordable, attractive and able to satisfy the appetites of a variety of patrons. Together with the Supplier the City will expect the establishment of performance standards relative to industry expectations, superior operations, professional development, product development, marketing initiatives and financial return.  It is the City’s intention that these facilities will be operated in a professional and fiscally responsible manner consistent with best industry practices.

The City’s goal is to partner with one or more experienced, innovative, and forward-looking Suppliers who share our vision for excellence and is dedicated to enhancing the overall guest experience through high-quality food and beverage offerings and services. The City reserves the right to award one Proponent to provide services to all locations, or two different Proponents with one providing services to the CN Centre and Kin Lounge and another one providing services to PGCCC. 

The primary objectives of this RFP are to select a partner or partners that can:

  1. deliver high quality of food and beverage offerings to meet the expectations of our diverse audience;
  2. accommodate a variety of different styles of services, including value-conscious standard concessions, quick-service restaurant, retail-style service, hospitality for touring productions staff and performers, bars – both single offerings and cocktail-style, premium catering, and high-end gala-style plated food and services. 
  3. ensure competitive pricing that aligns with industry standards and provides value to our clients, guests, and patrons;
  4. ensure timeliness and responsiveness in service-delivery to accommodate the dynamic nature of facilities;
  5. be responsible for their areas of work and maintain cleanliness of kitchen spaces and equipment;
  6. be willing to work with the City and its partners to innovate and seek opportunities to improve financial performance;
  7. promote socially responsible practices;
  8. help the City to solidify our reputation as a high-quality food and beverage service provider;
  9. Implement procedures and standards to increase sustainability and higher environmental protocols, including composting, recycling, and using serving products that are recyclable or minimize waste.
  10. focus on continuous growth by developing new products and lines of business that will provide community and economic benefit.
